Fed: Opposition would support peacekeeping force - Rudd

Opposition foreign affairs spokesman KEVIN RUDD says Labor is prepared to offer bipartisan
support to deploy Australians to a peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.

An Australian contribution to the proposed international security force in Afghanistan
remains under consideration.

Mr RUDD says the opposition will support an Australian deployment if it's modest with
a clear mandate and timeframe, and does not compromise peacekeeping in East Timor.
