NSW: Homes under renewed threat around Sydney = 3
Mr Winter said the Glenorie fire was expected to impact on homes in Brooklyn in the next hour.
The fire had already crossed the F3 towards the Gosford area and was threatening rural areas.
"There is potential for it to spot right across the Hawkesbury River, towards Gosford,"
Mr Winter said.
"It is not currently spotting, but it is a concern, it has the potential to given thedistance it is travelling."
Property on Pittown Rd, Kenthurst, was being protected from the Glenorie fire.
Property was also being protected on Shipley Rd, Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains.
In the Sutherland district, the fire in the Holsworthy area was burning up towardsMenai and had reached the rear of homes.
Firefighters were frantically protecting property at Windell Place, Hall Rd, WindellDrive and Hallston Place in Menai.
Mr Winter said crews were confident of being able to meet the challenge in the Blue Mountains.
"We don't anticipate there will be any property losses with current conditions," he said.
